Itinerary


Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City
Today arrive at Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon),Vietnam. The city still retains its old charm. A city orientation tour bring us to the cavernous General Post Office, the City hall and the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral, the former Presidential Palace, Tien Hau Pagoda and the bustling Chinatown of Cholon.

Day 2: Saigon
In the morning, we drive to Cu Chi and visit the amazing complex of underground tunnels. There are more than 200 km of underground tunnels, comprising a main axis system with many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters and other tunnels. We continue to Tay Ninh, centre of the Cao-Dai religion founded in 1926, a combination of Buddhism, Christianity, Taoism and Confucianism.
Afternoon is free for your own exploration of the city.

Day 3: Saigon/Hue
Early morning transfer to the airport for your flight to Hue, the capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen Dynasty of emperors from 1802 till 1945. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, visit the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen emperors once ruled Vietnam. Continue to Dong Ba Market for a visit before transferring back to hotel.

Day 4: Hue / Hoi An
Early morning take a dragon boat upstream to visit the Thien Mu Pagoda, Hue's most preserved religious monument standing on the riverbank with its seven-floor tower. Then drive directly to Hoi An via Hai van Mountain Clouds Pass where a spectacular panorama of the central coastline can be viewed at the summit. Upon arrival in Hoi An, enjoy a walking tour of the ancient town center and take in the former merchants' houses, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colorful market with its stalls brimming with tropical specialties.

Day 5: Hoi An - Danang/Hanoi /Hai Phong
Transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi, meet and transfer directly to Hai Phong, a colonial port city. Arrive in Hai Phong, take a guided city tour including Hang Kenh Temple ,Du Hang pagoda and a carpet making factory.

Day 6: Ha Long - Hanoi
Discover Halong Bay, listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding nature beauty. "Dragon descending to the sea" as it is known in Vietnamese, picturesque Halong Bay has more than 1,000 limestone islets from the sea, many of them containing beautiful grottoes. Enjoy a relaxing boat cruise among the cave-dotted islands and small fishing boats. A fresh seafood lunch is served on board. Return Hanoi in the late afternoon.

Day 7: Hanoi
Hanoi, the capital and political center of modern Vietnam, still retains a vivid charm, with its wide shady tree-lined boulevards and French architecture. In the morning, take a guided walking tour, and visit Pho Co Ancient Town, Historical Museum, Restored Sword Lake, and the Old Quarter district. The afternoon is free at leisure. This evening , enjoy a traditional performance by Hanoi's famed water puppet troupe.

Day 8: Hanoi
Depart for homeward flight or extended travel to other part of the Asia.(B)
